Project management and supervision experience

  • Developed and introduced into the Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv curriculum a new specialization leading to a master’s degree in English translation “Literary Translation from English, Literary Editing, and Management of Translation Projects”, which was accredited for the 5-year period by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (Ukraine) on May 19, 2023.

  • In January 2021, launched the English-Ukrainian translation project with East/West: Journal of Ukrainian Studies

  • For a cycle of research works under the title “Contemporary Interstate Dialogue and Transfer of Cultural Capital,” was nominated by the Scientific Council of Taras Shevchenko National University for the Ivan Franko Award of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, October 7, 2019. 

  • Editor-in-Chief of annual peer-reviewed academic journal Bulletin of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Foreign Philology, member of the Editorial Board of peer-reviewed academic journal East European Journal of Psycholinguistics (indexed in Scopus).

  • Supervised sixteen Doctors of Philosophy (doctoral thesis) and three Doctors of Philological Sciences (post-doctoral thesis) in Translation Studies, in particular, Valeriy Kykot, January 25, 2021, Serhiy Zasiekin, September 28, 2020, Alla Perminova, March 31, 2016. 

  • Contributing editor of several collective volumes, e.g., Shevchenko Studies in the Modern World (2014) Living the Independence Dream: Ukraine and Ukrainians in Contemporary Socio-Political Context (Vernon Press, 2024).

  • From 2010-2017 – Chair of the State Examination Board for the defense of master’s qualifying theses and the qualification exam on specialty “Philology,” educational program “Germanic languages and literatures (including translation), English as the first foreign language” at the Department of theory and practice of translation from English language of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. 

  • 2013-2016 – Member of the Jury of the Nationwide Competitions for Student Research Papers in the field of translation, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.   

  • Coordinated the Kyiv City State Administration Project EURO 2012 providing volunteers with the Ukrainian-English, Ukrainian-German, and Ukrainian-French phrasebooks.

  • Supervised the Prize-winning student research papers submitted to the Nationwide Competitions for Student Research Papers in the field of translation at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. 

  • Served as a member of the Bi-National Selection Committee of U.S. and Ukrainian education specialists of the Program “US-Ukrainian Awards for Excellence in Teaching” (TEA) at the American Council for Collaboration in Education and Language Study (ACTR/ACCELS).
